Your journey begins with a warm welcome in Kigali, followed by an exploration of Rwanda’s resilient capital.

• Morning: Guided Kigali City Tour, including a solemn visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial and local craft markets.
• Afternoon: A scenic 2.5-hour drive north to the foothills of the Virunga Volcanoes. Visit the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund to learn about the pioneering research that continues to protect these volcanic landscapes.
• Overnight: Stay at a lodge near the park boundary

Today is dedicated to the lively endemic golden monkeys, found only in the bamboo zones of the Virungas.

Early Morning: Head to the park headquarters for a briefing before entering the forest. Track a habituated troop of golden monkeys to watch them feed, jump between bamboo stalks, and play

Afternoon: Visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village (Gorilla Guardians Village). Participate in traditional drumming and dancing, learn about ancient hunting techniques, and witness local architecture

Overnight: Leisurely evening at your lodge.
