4-Day Uganda Gorilla and Lake Bunyonyi Safar

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by your professional driver-guide for a brief city tour, including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial. Afterward, you will embark on a scenic 4–5 hour drive through the "country of a thousand hills," crossing the border (typically via Katuna or Cyanika) into Uganda for an evening check-in at your lodge in the Bwindi region.

After an early breakfast and a 7:30 am briefing at the park headquarters, you will head into the dense forest with rangers to find your assigned mountain gorilla family. Once located, you will spend exactly one hour observing them in their natural habitat. In the afternoon, you may take an optional community forest walk before returning to your lodge for dinner.

Following breakfast, you will take a scenic drive to Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda’s deepest lake. The afternoon is dedicated to a boat cruise or traditional canoe ride to explore the 29 diverse islands. You can visit Punishment Island and engage with local communities before settling in for a peaceful evening at a lakeside resort.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast overlooking the misty lake. Depending on your flight schedule, you can fit in a final nature walk or local market visit before driving back across the border to Kigali for your outbound flight.
